simple Excel to Excel flow

I am creating a flow that once a file is uploaded to sharepoint, info from columns in the file need to be reformatted and dumped into another file under different columns. Basically the original file has them out of order.

I'm having trouble as this is my first flow ever.

I got the trigger to work, but not sure how to choose the correction actions to get info from one set of columns into another. Help!

Re: simple Excel to Excel flow

First, I would not recommend going Excel to Excel, due to the Excel connector's severe issues and limitations - which includes file lockouts of 6-12 minutes. Instead, I'd go Excel to SharePoint list, and then I would export or Flow the SharePoint List to a new Excel.

The following templates are good starting points:

If you use the templates as inspiration, you can generally figure out how best to build your custom Flow. Your key elements will be Create item (SharePoint) and/or Add a row in a table (Excel) and an apply to each loop. I also strongly suggest working your way through Microsoft's free online Flow training for beginners:

If you could provide an expanded screenshot of your Flow and steps, and of any detailed error messages you're receiving we could likely better assist you.

Re: simple Excel to Excel flow

Hi @lrmo81 ,

Thanks for feedback.

It seems that you want to copy items from one Excel to another dynamically. If so, I am afraid that it might be not possible.

Currently, dynamic content in Excel online File and Table fields are not supported yet. Here is one of the similar requests from Flow Ideas Forum, please vote it at here:

Best regards,

Mabel
