I just got done creating 3 environments DEV/TEST/PROD and during each environment creation, it was recommended that i create a CDS database attached to each one.
The only problem is that on the 3rd environment, I received an error saying that my license only allows 2 databases to be created.
I'm a little woried that my 3 environments are now not completely in sync, but at the same time I don't think we will be using CDS at this time.
My questions: Is it really necessary to have these databases attached to every environment if I don't planning on using CDS right now?
And should I delete & recreate all the environments without the attached databases? Or just leave 2 with DB's, and one without?
I tried researching this topic, but didn't find any specifics on the database piece.
Go to Solution.
Based on the documentation, each user can create up to two environments, and can provision up to two databases.
If you are not planning to use the Common Data Service, then you may consider to not create the DataBase.
It is OK to leave the Database where it is if you have already created.

Ok great thank you for the confirmation. I did review that help document, but it doesn't go into too many specifics about the CDS Databases (how many you should have, why they are 'recommended' etc)
Just a quick thought - almost all app enviroments include DEV/TEST/PROD and only being able to attach a CDS DB to 2 of those seems rather limiting.
