Bug - Collection From Sharepoint List

If you create a collection from a sharepoint list and a column has no default value set and is blank you are unable to update this field.

Re: Bug - Collection From Sharepoint List

I've done some research and have found a valid workaround:
Patch just will not work if the value of the SharePoint column was blank when collecting, which for columns that do not have a default value such as text is always going to be the case.
The workaround is to use UpdateIf instead of patch. I have confirmed this writes to the collection when the value is blank.
There is still a bug to be fixed with patch function but at least we can get round it for the meantime

Re: Bug - Collection From Sharepoint List

Hi @Delid4ve,

Would you please share more details about the SharePoint column type?

Currenlty for fields that allows multiple values are not be supported under PowerApps.

For the other single value field, the update should work.

Check the following article for more known issues when working with SharePoint list under PowerApps:

Connect to SharePoint from PowerApps

It is happening with all field types.

Re: Bug - Collection From Sharepoint List

As long as the SharePoint field is blank when collecting, it cannot be edited in the collection.
To test:
Create SharePoint list and add a column type number, default value left blank.
Collect the list in PowerApps
Patch a value to the column within the collection
Add a data table with its source as the collection and see the value has not patched.
Go back to SharePoint and add a value to the column
Retest and see it will now patch successfully
