I have the same issue with person field. Can we please get an update on this that when can we patch other field types with null values?
@Anonymous, please add you kudo to this:
This proposed solution doesn't work. The reset = true doesn't clear the date field in the selected record.
So far the only solution that I've found to work (unfortunately) is patching a new record with all exact same fields than the original one but the date I want to clear and then removing the original record.
hope it helps!
@SergiPthe Reset property is used to reset the control, not the database field.
Please see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/controls/properties-core
Is there a solution today ?
Is this issue fixed? I am new to PowerApps, saving empty value to text box works, but got stuck in saving empty value to datetime control and dropdown choice control.
I couldn't find anywhere that says how in Flow to set a text field to blank. The empty string "" merely inserts the double quotes into the text field.
Initializing a variable as a string and then setting the text field to the output of the variable worked for me.
I'm sure someone else has thought of that but now it's here's too.
Initialize an Empty String Variable with the "Initialize Variable" action. Then set this variable to the field you want to blank out.
Greetings,
George
I'm having the same issue with the person field. It demands a 'record' format for the data and then states that the "user cannot be found" when using empty strings. Please advise.
Any update?
As of today (10.08.2018) this issue is still present on MySql connections: can't update a decimal with a (null), you must at least insert a zero.
