Changing dropdown default does not update on a blank value

Hi all,

I'm a bit stuck. I have a dropdown with options from a distinct collection value which is collected from a Sharepoint library:

Result:

All fine. There's also a blank value which is correct.

Next I have a data table and I want to show the value of the selected item in the data table, according next on the dropdown default:

(I have .Value because 'Cost Center' is a record with a field 'Value' inside it.)

When I click items on the data table it properly changes its default value to its current value except when the current value is blank. Then the previous value will remain, until a new not-blank item is selected.

I cannot figure out why it does not take the blank value, even though it is an option from the dropdown items. I've tried it on a label and that works perfectly. Why doesn't it work on a dropdown?

EDIT: Made a small test with a gallery and dropdown

Collection (assigned to both gallery and dropwdown which means these have exactly the same options):

ClearCollect(colValues, "1", "2", "3", "");

If I press "1" = dropdown is "1",
If I press "2" = dropdown is "2",

If I press "3" = dropdown is "3",

If I press "" = dropdown is "3" and not "".

Why does it not work?

Many Thanks,

Ski

Hi @SkiDK ,

Please try to set the AllowEmptySelection property of this dropdown control to "true" and test again.

Hi @v-monli-msft ,

That did the trick. Thanks. That's was quite straightforward. I oversaw the property.
