I just tested the OnStart property with the clearcollect function, and it works from my side.
To have this property work, you need to first save this App and then open it to trigger the Clearcollect formula under the OnStart property.

Yeah, this solution did not work for me either. Im working with 80-100 imported Excel tables from the 365 User Platform. I know a SharePoint list would be a better solution but it would be nice to understand more of what the limitations are when using the Excel tables import option. Thank you for posting though.
