Combobox control item selected

Hi there,

I have a powerapp in which I inserted a searchable Combobox and a button that submit to CDS the combobox value. I want to insert a control that checks if inside the combobox is selected one of its items (and not something the user has typed that is not one of the combobox items). Is there a function to do it? I cannot find it.

Re: Combobox control item selected

Hi @Hydrarian ,

Do you want to check if the user has selected one of available options within the ComboBox rather than type a text value manually?

Based on the needs that you mentioned, I think the IsBlank() function could achieve your needs.

I have made a test on my side, please take a try with the following workaround:4.JPG

Set the OnSelect property of the "Check" icon to following formula:

If(
IsBlank(ComboBox1.Selected.Value),
Notify("Not select one of the ComboBox items!",NotificationType.Error),
Notify("Select one of the ComboBox items", NotificationType.Success)
)

Please also check the following GIF screenshot for more details:Test.gif

If only want to submit one of the ComboBox items to your CDS Entity rather than a text value typed manually by the user, please take a try with the following workaround:

Set the OnSelect property of the "Submit" button to following:

If(
IsBlank(ComboBox1.Selected.Value),
Notify("Not select one of the ComboBox items!",NotificationType.Error),
--- Type your Submit formula here ---
)
