CountRows = 0 but IsBlank = false

I have used often a command like this:

IsBlank(Filter(LocalBusAtt,BusDailyID=6117906))

Which is currently returning false. However if I run this:

CountRows(Filter(LocalBusAtt,BusDailyID=6117906))

I get 0 as result. It seems like I am getting incorrect responses from IsBlank or I have totally misunderstood how it works?

Re: CountRows = 0 but IsBlank = false

IsBlank() is used to check if a value is blank (e.g. text string). IsEmpty() is used to check if a table has no records. Filter() returns a table so you have to use IsEmpty() to evaluate this function.

The reason IsBlank() returns true is because an empty table is considered a value whereas the string “” is not.
