Customised Sharepoint List Form - Clearing an input field based on a Toggle value.

Apologies if this has been dealt with already. Searched for a similar scenario but couldn't find it in the forums.

In my custom sharepoint list form, I am trying to clear in input field based on the value of a separate Toggle field.

Here are the property values of the said cards and their components:

  • ToggleDataCard
    • Default : ThisItem.'Toggle'
    • Update: DataCardValue11.Value
    • DataCardValue11
      • OnCheck: false
      • OnUnCheck: false
  • InputDataCard
    • Default: ThisItem.'Input'
    • Update: DataCardValue12.Value
    • DataCardValue12
      • Parent.Default
      • OnChange: false
      • OnSelect: false

I tried changing the "Default Values" for InputDataCard and DataCardValue12 to a global variable or local variable and then setting the values of those variables depending on the value of DataCardValue11 but it would not save back to the list.

How do I clear the Input field while being able to display existing values that are usually displayed when using Parent.Default settings.

Sorry if this was confusing.

Re: Customised Sharepoint List Form - Clearing an input field based on a Toggle value.

Hi @flipcritic ,

Could you tell me

1)DataCardValue12 repersents what control?

2)what is the data type of the field that DataCardValue12 is used to update?

I've made a similar test for your reference:

1)Unlock InputDataCard

2)

If DataCardValue12 is a textinput and the field is text type.

Set DataCardValue12's Default: DataCardValue11.Value

      InputDataCard's Update: DataCardValue12.Text

If DataCardValue12 is a drop down and the field is single choice (true/false).

Set DataCardValue12's Default: DataCardValue11.Value

      DataCardValue12's Items: Choices(listname,fieldname)

      InputDataCard's Update: DataCardValue12.Selected

If DataCardValue12 is a combo box and the field is single choice (true/false).

Set DataCardValue12's DefaultSelectedItems: {Value:DataCardValue11.Value}

      InputDataCard's Update: DataCardValue12.Selected

To sum up, using what control and what data type is very important.
