Data Source & Form Refresh

Currently in the process of making a checklist app.

Everything is working smoothly, running the app through the use of share-point list's. Each form is connected to a sharepoint list and on submit each list is updated as required.

although I would like the option to edit the data source and then have it update to the form (checklist).

E.g. I would like to change settings of some columns for example making it mandatory to fill out a certain question. This toggle is in share point and is easily activated but does not update to the data card in power apps. Also would like to possibly add columns in the future and struggling to add them in to the power app.

Re: Data Source & Form Refresh

Hi @Channah ,

If you have added fields in SharePoint list, to make the newly added fields show in PowerApps, you just need to refresh the data source, then add them to the form control.

1. Refresh the data source from View > Data Sources >"..." > Refresh:
Capture.JPG

2. With the form control selected, click on Edit > Add field:

1.JPG

To make a field to be required inside PowerApps, you can select the data card of this field > Unlock it > set the Required property to true:

Notice that this will only set this field to be required inside this app, it will not influence the column type in SharePoint list.

@Channah

#1 How do I make a field required?

Click on the DataCard and change the Required property to True.

#2 How do I add a new column?

Refresh the datasource by clicking on it within the left side menu then choose Refresh from the (...) menu.  Then click on the Edit Form.  Look in the right menu for Edit Fields, click Add Field, choose the new column and click Add.
