Datacard in view mode (for form in Edit mode), not showing all contents

Hi,

I have a form with DefaultMode:Edit. In the same form, I have datacard with DisplayMode=DisplayMode.View. The datacard in View mode is showing just the information which can be adjusted inside the datacard value box hiding information for longer values in the field.

If the Defaultmode of form is View, the information in the field with longer contents are shown in other lines.

I have enclosed the screenshot for both scenarios.

Is there a way to show all the information of the field (non editable) with form in edit mode?

Hi @pNabin

If you just want to view data on an edit form, an alternative is to use a card with a label control, rather than a text input control.

A quick way to do this is to select your edit form, click the properties > fields link, and change the control type to 'View text'. Hopefully, that'll work better for you.

Hi @pNabin

If you change the mode of your text input control to 'multiline', the control should hopefully not truncate your text when the DisplayMode of your card is set to View.

@timl,

Thank you. It helps somewhat except I have to manually set the height of the multiline text input control. Is there any way to fix it? It is because sometimes, it could be several lines for some records. It would be great if there is auto height feature associated ow some workaround.

Re: Datacard in view mode (for form in Edit mode), not showing all contents

Hi @pNabin,

Do you want to set the height of the multiple text input control automatically within your app?

There is no Auto height property associated with the Text Input control in PowerApps currently.

If you would like this feature to be added in PowerApps, please submit an idea to PowerApps Ideas Forum:
