Error When Opening PowerApp: An identifier was expected at position 38.

Hi, I have a PowerApp that pulls data from an on premise SQL server using a gateway. This app was working fine last week and now i'm getting this error message that says "an identifier was expected at position 38". I read that turning off the explicit columns preview feature helped solve people with similar problems, but it has not solved my problem. Any help would be appreciated as I am supposed to present this app tomorrow, thanks!

Here is the full error message:

Re: Error When Opening PowerApp: An identifier was expected at position 38.

Hi @asutton,

Could you please share a bit more about your app's configuration?

I have made a test, the issue is confirmed on my side, but when I disable/turn off the "Explicit columns selection" option within the Advanced settings of App settings, the issue has been fixed.

Please check if you have defined a PRIMARY KEY within your SQL table, if not, please add a PRIMARY KEY within your SQL table, then run your app again to check if the issue is solved.

In addition, please also consider take a try to re-create a new connection to the SQL table data source within your app, then check if the issue still exists.

If the issue still exists, please consider take a try to re-create your app, then check if the issue is solved.

Note: After you disable/turn off the "Explicit columns selection" option within the Advanced settings of App settings, please save and publish your app within PowerApps.

Best regards,

Kris

Re: Error When Opening PowerApp: An identifier was expected at position 38.

The solution was to delete and then recreate the data source inside of PowerApps. Now it is functioning, thank you!
