Filter function returns intermittent output

We have developed an app which has data tables from 2 different databases. Database is on SQL Server Express Edition and we have used On Premise data gateway for creating connection.

Things have been working fine untill last few days. We have used cascading dropdown lists in our forms and we are facing issues as:

  1. either they are not resetting even the entire form resets
  2. when we replaced that drop down with a new one, then it is picking values from different column of the same table, even though specific column name has been mentioned.
  3. it is not showing filtered values in cascading drop down list on the existing form, but if we are applying same formula on a sample screen, then it is working fine.

We have noticed all of the above issues on three separate occassions and unable to find any specific pattern.

Any guidance in this context would be highly appreciated.

Hello @vranjan22,

Please try to disable the "Explicit column selection" option in application's settings, re-publish the app and see if that affresses the issue.

Re: Filter function returns intermittent output

Hi @vranjan22,

Could you please share a bit more about the issue within my app?

I agree with @dinusc's thought almost, please take a try to disable/turn off the "Explicit column selection" option within the Advanced Settings of App settings, then try your app again to check if the issue is solved.13.JPG

In addition, please also take a try to re-create a new connection to the SQL table from your app or re-create a new app, and then check if the issue is solved.

Re: Filter function returns intermittent output

Thank you @dinusc & @v-xida-msft for your response.

I have checked that the Explicit Column Selection option is turned off.

The problem is with overall performance of the app. The app is being concurrently used by around 10 users and the number of records in the main table is increasing daily. In 4 weeks, it has reached over 3000 records in the main data table. Along with main data table, we have created multiple support tables for creating drop down lists.

The table which we are using in the dropdown has only 20 records. It has four columns: AutoID, Product Group, Product Code, Product Name. The app is taking time to load all the data tables, especially the main data table. And I believe, it is creating lag/delay to load other supporting tables while running the app.

We have spent almost 2 months in builiding the app, so recreating it is not a feasible solution for us 😞

Is there anything we can do to speedup the loading process?
