Gallery Item based on dropdown

Hi All,

I have a gallery object which I want to display items based on a dropdown selection. I have tried multiple options from filter to lookup. Basically when I select an item in the dropdown, I need to display the first item which matches in another table. Then the subtitle to be a ForAll type action where all items from the other table which match the first item to be listed.

So this is my table - Package is the item I will select in the dropdown, module is what I want as a "group title", and under it, is listed all the items included in that group. Perhaps a gallery is not the right way to do this?

Any advice would be awesome thank you!

Re: Gallery Item based on dropdown

For anyone with the same issue. I solved it. I changed the gallery text from:

Filter(Mapping, crb20_package = Dropdown2.SelectedText.Value)

To:

GroupBy(
Filter(Mapping, crb20_package = Dropdown2.SelectedText.Value),
"crb20_package",
"crb20_module",
"crb20_item"
)

Re: Gallery Item based on dropdown

Hey,

create a dropdown.

Items -> 'yourdatabase.'Group Title'

Your List Items -> Filter('YourDatabase';  Group Title = dropdown.Selected.Title)

try this out.

Re: Gallery Item based on dropdown

So for my example I put in:

Filter(Mapping, cbr20_package = Dropdown2.Selected.crb20_package)

crb20_pacgake is the matching field in the Mapping table that I need to match based on the dropdown.

The message I get is:

Name isn't valid. This identifier isn't recognised. With crb20_package underlined.

Re: Gallery Item based on dropdown

Did you set the Items from your dropdown to : Mapping.crb20_package ?

And in your Filter you write it wrong.  'cbr20_package' , I think you must write 'crb20_package'.

Re: Gallery Item based on dropdown

You're right, typying error! Also though the drop down uses a different table, not the Mapping one. I am using the lookup table because otherwise I'd have the same package name listed multiple times (see the copy of the table I posted). Should I use the mapping table but filter by duplicates?

Re: Gallery Item based on dropdown

LookUp only gives you the first value when it was true, i think you should filter by Items, because there are not any dupe.

Re: Gallery Item based on dropdown

Yeah I want lookup for the first item so I only have the first item. So based on the table I pasted, I would select package from the dropdown using the lookup table of package items. The Title in the gallery would list the module, with undereath all related items.

Here's an example of the result I need:

Filter Mapping table by - Inventory Management

Title:

Inventory Overview

Subtitle:

- Display Stock Overview

Title:

Material Requirements Planning (MRP)

Subtitle(s):

- Manually Run MRP

- Manually Run MRP (Single Material)

- Convert Planned Orders to Purch. Reqs

- Running Stock Requirements List

etc...

Re: Gallery Item based on dropdown

Okey I will try that,

create Dropdown for Module

Onselect -> Distinct(Mapping.'YourColumnNameForModule')

List Items set: Filter(Mapping, 'YourColumnNameForModule' = dropdown.Selected.'YourColumnNameForModule')

Try this out.

Re: Gallery Item based on dropdown

This is looking good, no errors. Now the gallery is blank, so I tried to add the fields I want from Mapping to the Title and Subtitle fields and I get the message:

This formula uses scope, which is not presently supported for evaluation.

Re: Gallery Item based on dropdown

Can you send me a screenshot? And you must select an Title from the Dropdown so they show you in the gallery.
