How to configure Custom Connector API response

Hi there! I'm trying to create a Custom Connector to call a REST API. I'm having a really hard time setting the response format. Here's an example of the response:

{
	"items": [{
		"id": 1,
		"data": [{
				"timestamp": 1349730000000,
				"average": 91.68629929661914
			},
			{
				"timestamp": 1349733600000,
				"average": 91.70923117467377
			},
			{
				"timestamp": 1349737200000,
				"average": 91.61691532056288
			},
			{
				"timestamp": 1349740800000,
				"average": 91.4590780488105
			},
			{
				"timestamp": 1349744400000,
				"average": 91.34583627396678
			}
		]
	}]
}

The problem is that when I use "Import from example", it ignores my data array (which is a list of key, value dictionaries). Could someone please help me with this? Thanks!
