Map to Excel File Shared with Me on OneDrive

I'm trying to build an app using an Excel file as the data source that has been shared with me OneDrive for Business.  When attempting to make the connection in PowerApps, I cannot see the "Shared with Me" folder and thus cannot connect to it. Is it possible to connect to a shared file or do I need to connect as the user who shared the file?

Thanks in Advance!

Re: Map to Excel File Shared with Me on OneDrive

Hi JCrumpton,

Thanks for feedback.

To test this issue, I shared a file to my OneDrive for Business. I can check the file in the folder “Shared with me” on OneDrive for Business.

However, when I connect to OneDrive for Business from PowerApps, there was no “Shared with me” folder for me to select the shared file.

I assume that you may need to move the file from “Shared with me” folder to root folder, then you will be able to create an app based on the file.

Or you could ask user who shared the file to create the app based on the Excel file first, then share both the app and the Excel file with you with “Can edit” permission.(If he/she has a subscription of PowerApps)

@JCrumpton

I know this post hs been here for quite a while, but I thought it will be useful to share this link here.

It explains how you can copy the "shared with me" files to your OneDrive.
