Open Selected Email using Launch Outlook and Email ID

Does anyone know the syntax that would allow a Selected Email to be opened from PowerApps using the Email Id. I used Office365.GetEmails({fetchOnlyUnread:false, top:10})  ThisItem.Id to get the Email Id and now I want to open the Email that matches the Email Id in Outlook365 from a button in PowerApps.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Marc...

@MarcBailey

You can use the GetEmail function to get the email content from a message id

So you can set a gallery/label to this value

Office365.GetEmail(Emailsgallery.Selected.Id,{includeAttachments:false})

Hope it makes sense. For more details about the Outlook Connector , refer this documentation -

Re: Open Selected Email using Launch Outlook and Email ID

Hi @ThatAPIGuy,

I am sorry I wasn't very clear on what I am trying to do in my original Post.

I want to Launch("https://outlook.office.com/owa/............" and then use the Selected.Id (Message Id) as a Parameter that will open the selected email in Outlook outside of PowerApps.

At this point - I can Launch Outlook - I just need Outlook to recognize the passed Id and open with that Email pulled up.

Any ideas on how to do this.  Thanks, Marc...

I understand what you are trying to do, however, I am trying to understand why you want to do this.

I know that you were having issues showing the body of the email and I replied to that you can solve it by using a html text control.

Now if you can see all the E-mail details on PowerApps itself, do you have any other purpose fo opeoning it in outlook instead?

I would like to allow the User to be able to view the Email in Outlook to give them the full functionality of Outlook, as well as be able to navigate and view other screens and activity in PowerApps.

Oh by the way, thanks for the HTML text - sometimes we get so focused on certain things that we miss the obvious.

Ok, I understand.

I will try testing it out and will let you know if I am able to do it.

Thanks so much - I am trying to have most of my Google Maps - Email - etc. to Launch outside of PowerApps so the user can leave them open and still navigate in PowerApps.

Re: Open Selected Email using Launch Outlook and Email ID

Any update on this?  I would like to give the user's the ability to open an email from Outlook desktop based on a Message ID.

The reason for this is to enable a user to save the selected email to an appropriate Sharepoint Site / Document library.  The current process utilizes Harmon.ie and the users like that interface for saving documents... particularly an email with the attachments.
