Patch function not working the way it is suppose to

I am trying to make an attendance application using barcode scanner to get attendance. I am using Patch with Default function on text input but it does not save my result in the Excel sheet on OneDrive. I do not want to use a button. I only want the result to be saved just when the code is scanned.

But it does not work. No error or exception.

Any guidance would be helpful.

Regards

Naqash

Can youi please attach a screen dump and your exact fomula you're using? Without those it's impossible to guess what's going on, or more to the point, what's not going on.

Where's the Patch -code, and where do you call it? Provide as much as information as you can, it makes it so much easier to write a good and helpful reply, no I still need to guess a lot.

You have an EditForm. Why not use the built in functions for saving data?

Do you not want the users to acknowledge that the label is scanned properly by pressing a button?

Re: Patch function not working the way it is suppose to

This is the Patch code i am writing in the OnSelect event of text input

Patch(Table1, Defaults(Table1), {Code: Barcode1.Text, Name: User().FullName})

I want the user to just scan tha barcode and the result saves automatically in my Excel sheet in OneDrive. Because Patch function is used when we do not want any user interaction (e.g. button tap).
