I am running a powerapp from Dynamics 365 and noticed that it will not let me save changes to the datasource using the Patch function. Running the app within Power Apps updates the datasource no problem, but when running it in Dynamics 365, user is unable to save these changes. Also, the datasource cannot be refreshed when running on Dynamics 365.
Datasource is an Excel file held on OneDrive. Can anyone advise as to why this may be happening.
Do you mean on Dynamics 365 portal, the Patch function cannot save data to data source?
When clicking the Patch button, do you get any error messages?
To test this issue, I crate an app based on Excel table. I try with both OneDrive and Dropbox connections.
On both PowerApps studio and Dynamics 365, it seems that when clicking the Patch button, I get the error “an error occurred on the server”, while when clicking the Submit button, data can be saved to Excel table as expected.
I'm seeing the exact same issue as described by ianrimmer67 with Patch function.
Works within the web studio but will not work when you launch the app within the Dynamics 365 portal.
No errors are shown.
Fails in both Chrome and IE11
Not sure whether this is related but users are now unable to connect on the datasource on OneDrive at all. Error message "Failed to load [Datasource] - An unknown error occured" appears when opening any app.
