Re: Possible to create a dropdown based on a Column from another data soure?

Sure. Anything you do here executes when you navigate to this screen. In this case, when the app is loaded, and any time subsequently a Navigate(Screen1,...) function is run.

Re: Possible to create a dropdown based on a Column from another data soure?

HI @simms7400 ,

Could you please share a bit more about the "Indication" field in your SP list? Is it a Text type column?

Do you want the user to select a value from a Dropdown box (pull data from another table) to populate the "Indication" field in your SP list?

Based on the needs that you mentioned, I think it is no necessary to add another field in your SP list to achieve your needs. On your side, you just need to convert the Text Input box within the Indication Data card into a Dropdown box.

I assume that the "Indication" field is a Text type column in your SP list, I have made a test on my side, please take a try with the following workaround:Test.gif

App's configuration as below:8.JPG

Within my Edit form, convert the Text Input box within the Indication Data card into Dropdown box (check above GIF screenshot). Then unlock the Dropdown box, set the Items property of the Dropdown box to following:

'20190325_case13'.Title

On your side, you should type:

'Indication_List'.Alias

Note: The available options may not appear immediately within the Dropdown box, please remove the formula, and re-type again to fix this issue.

@v-xida-msft  wow - thank you. I will give this a try!  Do I need to add the other data source as well? Or just reference that table & column after I convert "indication" to a drop dow?

@WillPage  by the way, your solution is working fine right now! but going to try the above solution to see what works better for me.  Thanks again!

Hi @simms7400 ,

You just need to add your another table ("Indication_List") as data source within your app.

Please take a try with the solution I provided above, then check if the issue is solved. If this issue is solved, please go ahead to click "Accept as Solution" to identify this thread has been solved.

Re: Possible to create a dropdown based on a Column from another data soure?

@v-xida-msft  wow - this is working great!  Thank you!

One additional peice.  I use this form for both change requests & new requests. Therefore, if it's a new request, there will be a certain field that isn't populated AND "Indicatoin" wont have a value either (obviously).

However, "Indication" is displaying the first value of "Indication_List" in that case.  I want to keep "Indicatoin" blank if that field is blank.  I've tried the following but no luck:

If(DataCardValue43.Text="","",Indication_List.Alias)

Is this not the ocrrect way to check for NULL?

Thanks!
