Refreshing twitter usertimeline / Power BI tile

Hello!

I've set up succesfully twitter usertimeline and power BI tiles from my data to my application. But I have not yet figured out a way to refresh those. For me it seems that only way to refresh is to close application and open it again.

Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Refreshing twitter usertimeline / Power BI tile

Hi @marovil,

Could you please share more details about how you setup the twitter user timeline and the Power BI tiles in PowerApps?

Twitter connection in PowerApps

If here you are using the twitter function within a gallery, we could take use of the following method to manually refresh the returned value:

1. Add a button, copy and paste the following:

UpdateContext({Twitterrefresh:true});UpdateContext({Twitterrefresh:false})

2. Under the items property of the Gallery, change the formula as below:

If(Twitterrefresh, Twitter.HomeTimeline(),Twitter.HomeTimeline())

3. Add the following code under the OnVisible property of the Gallery screen:

UpdateContext({Twitterrefresh:true})

Step 2 would have the Gallery to check if the variable has been updated, there is no difference for the true or false, the purpose of the variable here is to force the twitter service to send a new call.

Step 3 is used to set the variable an initial value.

For Power BI tiles, I don't think it is available to update it within PowerApps, as currently there is no function to manually refresh it under PowerApps:

Data refresh in Power BI (Tile refresh)

Michael

Re: Refreshing twitter usertimeline / Power BI tile

Hi Michael,

twitter function I'm using within a gallery. Power BI; I've just added a PBI tile control to blank page and selected the dashboard/tile I want to show. Having PBI refreshed is not too critical for me.

I'll try twitter refresh solution and reply once done

thanks!
