SharePoint Form Mapping to an environment

Dear all, I am new to SharePoint and no idea how it works. As part of PowerApps learnign I am planning to work on SharePoint Form where we can create a Canvas App for a list.

Issue is, when I go to Site Settings and click on form customization its redirecting to Default PowerApps environment. But how can I redirect that to a specific environment?

Does SharePoint works the same way how CDS deployment works? For example, we do develop the functionaity in Dev instance and Deploy the changes to Prod/UAT and all. Is the same way we create forms in SharePoint too that first in a Dev Environment and then to Prod?

Re: SharePoint Form Mapping to an environment

Form Customization in PowerApps isn't the same thing as a standalone PowerApps canvas app.  Custom PowerApps forms are displayed in the context of the SharePoint list and they always go into the Default Environment. To create a regular canvas app from a SharePoint list either start in PowerApps and create a Canvas App that starts with Data or start in SharePoint and pick 'Create an App' from the PowerApps menu rather than 'Customize Forms'.

Re: SharePoint Form Mapping to an environment

Hi @krishnags ,

Accoring to your description, I think maybe you misunderstand SharePoint Customize form.

Creating an app connected with sharepoint and customizing sharepoint form are two different things.

The first one is: create an app in PowerApps, set the app's data source to sharepoint.

And then you could buila a standalone app connected with sharepoint. You could exchange data with sharepoint in the app. You could choose environment before building the app and  deploy the changes to Prod/UAT and all.

The second one is: customize a form inside sharepoint. That's not a standalone app and you can't change environment in it. You could only see the form in sharepoint.

Here's a doc dor your reference:( I suggest you read the Q&A componet)

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/customize-list-form
