Storing data in Excel and Sending Email

Hi,

I'm trying to create a simple app which collects data in a single excel file in Onedrive (adding row) and sending an email. For that, I am trying to a get button to submit the data to the source and to send an email notifying the recipient that a new alert has been created with the details in the email.

I need help with few things

  1. Connecting the app to the excel file in the one drive.
  2. I want to use an option where we can upload multiple pictures if possible store it (excel) and also send it in the email.

Please find the attached screenshot of the app so far.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Storing data in Excel and Sending Email

Hi @a_k93 ,

For your first question, do you want to connect to Excel table stored in your OneDrive from your app?

Please check and see if the following article would help in your scenario:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/get-started-create-from-data

For your second question, do you want to save captured picture into your Excel table? More details about saving image into Excel table, please check the following article:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/tutorial-working-with-images-in-excel

Based on the formula you provided, do you fire a flow from your app to send an email? I think it is not necessary to add a flow connection in your app to fire a flow from your app to send an email. Instead, you could add a Office 365 Outlook connector as data source in your app, then send an email using the following formula:

Office365.SendEmail(...)

On your side, you could consider set the captured picture as an attachment within above Office365.SendEmail(...) function. More details about sending an email along with attachments within PowerApps app, please check the following article:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/connections/connection-office365-outloo...
