display data based on drop box selection

Hi

Looking for a method to display data based on a dropbox selection.  I want to chose a persons name from a sharepoint list and then display the customers assoicated with that selection.

Thanks

Re: display data based on drop box selection

Hi @raald,

Could you please share more details about the sharepoint list data?

Are the customer data and the associated data stored in two SharePoint list?

We could take use of the Gallery control and the dropdown to filter the expected result:

Add a dropdown control, change the items property with the proper data column from the SharePoint list(List2.title as an example here);

and a Vertical text gallery, change the items property with the formula below:

Filter(List2,Title=Dropdown1.Selected.Value)

See:

Re: display data based on drop box selection

Thanks for the feedback.  There is only one sharepoint list.  My first screen will show sales reps name,  then click the navigate button to go to the next screen that will show only customers assigned to them on the sharepoint list.  From there they can enter customer visit informations.  Im having trouble getting the second screen to only show customers assigned to sales rep chosen on the first screen.

Re: display data based on drop box selection

Hi @raald,

So the current situation here is:

Customer data and the sales reps are stored in One SharePoint list, and you would like the first screen to display Sales reps, then naviagte to the proper Customer selected view with another screen, right?

If this is the case, then we may take a try with the steps below:

1. Open the first screen editing view Under PowerApps studio, click the first navigation icon, change the Navigate property to your customer Screen:

Navigate(BrowseScreen1_1, ScreenTransition.None)

(Screen name could be found when you choose it under the left Navigation pane, move your mouse to the name part at the bottom of the screen; we could change the screen name under Content tab-> choose the proper Screen in left->Click your mouse to the Rename part

);

2. Under the second that you would like to have the customer filtered, change the items property of the Gallery with the formula below:

Filter('Customer list',CustomerNameColumn=BrowseGallery1.Selected.CustomerNameColumn)

Please see if this would work.

Further, there is a blog talking about navigate, you may take a look as reference:

Conditional Navigation - Triggered by User Selection

Re: display data based on drop box selection

that will work.  One more question.  I want to have the sales reps be able to make comments back to the sharepoint list.  I have append-only Comments setup in Sharepoint list.  How do I create a place for them to add comments back to sharepoint using append to the list.  If that makes sense.
