offline - dropdown list - pulling data form SharePoint list

Dear community,

I made an app that I want to use offline.
There is a form to enter data, with a dropdown list on it, pulling data form a SharePoint list.

When I am offline, the dropdown list doesn't pull the data anymore.

I guess I ahve to put it in  collection and the cache, but Im not sure how to do that.

Can anyone guide me through that?

Many thanks in advance for your help

Re: offline - dropdown list - pulling data form SharePoint list

Hey,

Check the link below for the details

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/offline-apps

You'll need to put your code in the first screen "OnVisible" property, this way it'll always run when you launch the app.

The code might be tweaked this way for your use :

If(Connection.Connected,
    ClearCollect(LocalSPList, SPList) ,
    LoadData(LocalSPList, "SPList", true)
)&&
SaveData(LocalSPList, "SPList")

I hope I didn't mess anything in it while translating from french.

Tell me how it goes !

Hi @blue_lotus,

Do you want to create a offline app using PowerApps?

Based on the needs that you mentioned, I think the SaveData function and LoadData function could achieve your needs.

I have made a test on my side, please take a try with the following workaround:

Set the OnVisible property of the first screen of your app to following:

If(
    Connection.Connected,
    ClearCollect(DropdownCollection, 'YourSPList'),
    LoadData(DropdownCollection, "DDCollection")
);
SaveData(DropdownCollection, "DDCollection")

then you could use the DropdownCollection to populate the Drop down control within your app.

More details about the SaveData function and LoadData function in PowerApps, please check the following article:

SaveData function, LoadData function

More details about creating a offline app in PowerApps, please check the following blog:
