save multiple records in database

Hi guys,

Need your help. I am novice learner of powerapps and I would like to create an application like a questionaire, and I am facing with the following issue: I would like to know how may I save some information from the screen on the DB ( I've did a connection using on premisies gateway from SQL server express to powerapps). Actually, I have a button on the botton of the screen and on click, I would like to save the information from the screen in database.

Thank you in advance!

Re: save multiple records in database

Hello @Anonymous,

In order to track data that needs to be saved, it would be better to use one of the container controls. For example, you can use Gallery control to manage data from a table or Form control to manage data from a record of a table.

Looking at the screenshot from your message, it looks like you're looking for a Form control. please see this page for more details on how to use form controls: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/controls/control-form-detail

I would also suggest to create a test app out of your SQL data and check it out (see "Start with your data" section from the "New" menu). You will end up with an application that manages data from your table. It will contain a a gallery control and several form controls.

You could also save data directly from screen controls but in this case you would not be able to benefit from many PowerApps helper functions to manage your data. The following page contains information on how to save data directly: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/General-Discussion/How-to-bulk-update-with-ForAll-or-Patch/td-p/9330

Hope this helps.
