@seadude.  I'm happy to post my findings.  I don't know how enlightening it will be.  I had a collection that was something like

ForAll(Data1,Patch(Table1,Defaults(Table1),
{Date:Date,
Company: Company1,
Commodity: Commodity1,
Pack: Pack1,
Label: Label,
CrewSize: CrewSize,
}))

In my brilliance, I named my dataset columns and app field columns the same thing so I didn't realize I was referencing the wrong thing until I changed my app field names to company1.  After that, it fixed the problem
