502 bad gateway error

I have a PowerApp that has been working for nearly a year, all of a sudden today it is throwing the following error.  I have checked the Flow and Workflows and all is ok.  I've checked the PowerApp and no errors showing either.  It's based on a SharePoint list.

When a new item is created there is no issue, when you go back to edit an existing item and resubmit the record to update with the changes, this is when the error is occuring and the changes are not saved.

Re: 502 bad gateway error

Hi @LeonieW ,

Have you taken a try to restore your app to previous version?

On your side, you could also consider take a try to restore your app to previous version, then check if the issue is solved.

More derails about restoring app to previous version, please check the following article:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/restore-an-app

In addition, you could also consider edit your app using previous version of PowerApps as below:

https://create.powerapps.com/v3.19054.15.115879415/studio/

then re-create a new connection to your SP List from your app, re-publish your app again, check if the issue is fixed.

Re: 502 bad gateway error

Hi @LeonieW ,

Based on the issue that you mentioned, I have made a test on my side, and don't have the issue that you mentioned. Based on the issue that you mentioned, I think this issue may be related to upgrades in PowerApps.

The user @Foots002 and @eturman5 has faced similiar issue with you, please check the response within the following threads:

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/General-Discussion/An-error-occurred-on-the-server-Server-Repson...

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/General-Discussion/PowerApp-Connected-to-SharePoint-List-returns...

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/General-Discussion/Filter-using-LookUps-on-SharePoint-Lists-An-e...

Please consider re-create a new connection to your SP List from your app, then try it again, check if the issue is solved.

In addition, please consider use Patch function to submit your Edit form data instead of SubmitForm function. Please set the OnSelect property of the "Submit" button to following:

If(
    EditForm1.Mode = FormMode.New,
    Patch('YourSPList', Defaults('YourSPList'), EditForm1.Updates),
    Patch('YourSPList', BrowseGallery1.Selected, EditForm1.Updates)
)

If the issue still exists, please consider re-create a new app based on your SP List data source, then check if the issue is fixed.

Re: 502 bad gateway error

I tried removing the data connection and reconnecting the data source and this made no difference.  I've tested recreating a new PowerApp in Canvas and the patch function is now working to update the record in the SharePoint list.  So it looks like I have to recreate the entire PowerApp which is going to take me at least a day to do as it's a very complex app with multiple forms (hence using the patch function).  So it seems a Microsoft update has caused this issue.  I want to raise a complaint with Microsoft about this, it's going to take me many hours of rework and cost the client a considerable amount money for my time for something that is actually Microsoft's fault - how do I do this?  I extremely unhappy about this.

Re: 502 bad gateway error

Thanks for following up, I restored the previous version which thankfully only had a very small change and it appears to be working ok now.  Unfortunately I've already spent a few hours on recreating the app but will stop that now and fingers crossed it doesn't happen again.
