When we are on development deadlines, this is one of the worst error messages we see. We can only hope that "later" is not past our deadline.
I was able to access my custom CDS entities an hour ago. I was having issues (reported separately) with custom picklists at that time.

At the same time i'm having trouble accessing entities, PSA is hung in the downloading process for one my PoiwerApps. I am reluctant to shut down PSA forcibly for fear of corrupting my app.
as a hedge, i have my local copy (assuming it's the cloud copy that it's handling (at times like this (and even when saving), it's hard to know which store we are working with) open in the web editor.
so, is it a bad idea to kill PSA? should we just try to be patient and let it finish?
Now I can open custom entities with no error message. Have you tried this again? Please let us know if you are still experiencing this issue.
