Activating the Barcode Scanner control from a different control

I'd like to run the barcode scanner from a differnet control, but it dosn't have an onSelect function so I cant use Select(BarcodeScanner)... My ultimate goal is to have a continuous scan.  Scan a code, add it to a collection then scan another code until the user is complete. I was abe to achieve this with the ScanBarcode function, but I can't figure it out with the new control.

We've added support for the Select function and it should be available for you to try.

Example: 

If you would like to scan  a barcode on Text input focus you can do something like this:

TextInput1.OnSelect = Select(BarcodeScanner1)

BarcodeScanner1.OnScan = Collect(Barcodes, BarcodeScanner1.Value )

Hi @Ben_Z ,

 

Do you want to collect scanner's value?

You can set BarcodeScanner1.OnScan:Collect(test,BarcodeScanner1.Value)  (BarcodeScanner1 is my scanner name on my side)

Thanks for the response.

 

Correct me if im wrong, but this will scan a barcode (once) and put the value into a collection.  My need is to call the scanner over and over again.  I'd like it to not only add the value to the collection, but also call the scanner again to scan a new barcode.

The auto-scan feature you're looking for does not currently exist in the new barcode scanner.  Eventually, I believe, it will be back.  But for now - what you're looking for is not there.
