Hi, i am. trying to add a column from another datasource to my datatable, but my syntax keeps giving me the below error message

@WarrenBelz  and @dyee , please could you kindly help with the above? Thank you

I'm having trouble following your logic. Why not use the SEARCH function instead?

Hi @tbabe12 ,

with Search, it keeps returning an error... using this syntax

Search(
AddColumns(
WorkOrders,
"JobNotes",
LookUp(
Jobs,
job_address1_Column1_1.FieldDisplayName = job_address1
).job_Notes
)WorkOrders,searchQuering , job_address1
)

But if i use this below Search syntax alone, it gives me what i am searching for but no added column

Search(WorkOrders,searchQuering,"job_address1")

I think you should probably split the processes up.

Step 1 - Add an extra column to the collection.

ClearCollect(WorkOrders2,AddColumns(WorkOrders,""JobNotes", LookUp(Jobs, job_address1_Column1_1.FieldDisplayName = job_address1).job_Notes))

Protip: I'd make a gallery or data table and just confirm everything came over as you expect.

Step 2 - Rewrite your search function.  Search(WorkOrders,SearchQuering,"Job_address1","jobNotes",etcetc)

Thanks, should i add this collecting in Startup from the app

or items

OnStart.  You can't do it on items because it requires a trigger to create the collection.

Thanks @dyee
