Add picture camera not working on HUAWEI MATEPAD PRO

Hi Everyone,

I have a simple 'Add picture' control in an app. Everything works fine on most devices, but for a certain device it doesn't seem to work. It just doesn't respond. Reinstalling the app did not work.

Here are the details of the device:

  • Device: Tablet
  • Type: HUAWEI MATEPAD PRO
  • Model: MRX-W09
  • OS: Android 10 with HUAWEI EMUI 10.1.0

Is it an issue with the device itself and is there a way to fix this?

This is nothing from a Power Apps code or settings point of view that addresses any device incompatibility.

Sorry for the late reply and thanks for your answer.

But it doesn't really help me with the issue nor does it really verify the problem with the device. According to that thread the issue already got solved for HUAWEI devices while with us it still exists.

What it tells me though is that Microsoft Support might not be able to help me on this:

MS Technical support:

"The new restrictions prevent us from providing Microsoft software updates to all Huawei Devices that consumers have already purchased."


Is there something else I could do about this? Or is it just waiting until the issue gets fixed?

I am only reading between the lines here, but you might look at this article.and join the dots.

Hmm I see. But apparently Microsoft does still work with Huawei despite the ban, although it might explain a few 'syncing' issues. But still, this issue here did get solved before so I wonder.

I'm gonna investigate a bit further on this before accepting a solution. I'll keep it up to date here as well. Of course any input still very welcome.
