Adding link to Rich Text Editor

Hi,

I have a SharePoint list with about 600 items. this list has a column with the type 'multiple lines of text' and rich-text enabled. users used it to insert a link to the record. Now I tried to create a customized form with powerapps. but those links are not opened through that form. links still working if we click on the SharePoint list view, but not when we open the form. rich.JPGrich2.JPG

anyone can advise?

Regards

Hi @Setayesh2 ,

You could use Power Apps to transport Rich Texts in the Text column to Hyperlink column directly:

1\ Add a Gallery with Items set to the SP list.

2\ Add a button in Power Apps, set OnSelect of it to:

ForAll(Gallery.AllItems As A, Patch(SPlist,LookUp(SPlist,ID = A.ID),{HyperlinkColumnName:Match(Substitute(A.TextColumnName,":",":"),"https.*?(?=<)").FullMatch}))

3\ Click the button once and waiting for all records be updated.

4\ Check SP list if Hyperlinks updated successfully. If true, remove the Patch button.

4\ In the ViewForm, set the layout of Hyperlink column Data Card to View URL.

Hope this helps.

Hi @Setayesh2 ,

Would you like to add hyperlinks in Power Apps and allow users open the link via clicking in a ViewForm?

If so, and if you are using SharePoint share links with https protocol, Power Apps would automatically modify the URL to "us.create.create.powerapps.com/.....", then you will be unable to open it. When pasting the URL of share links, users need to select http:// protocol instead:

However, you could not force any user focus on the protocol before saving the Form, so it is difficult to avoid generating wrong URLs. As a work around, you could use a hyperlink type column in SharePoint list, in Power Apps Edit Form change the control type of the Data Card to Edit URL and View Form control type to View URL:

Hope this helps.

Thank you @v-jefferni

But my problem is how to transfer those links to the new hyperlink column. Any Idea?

@v-jefferni

I could move the link to the new hyperlink column but it shows as URL. users should copy and paste the URL. its not clickable. How I can fix it?
