An error occurred on the server. Server Response: Not a valid connector Error response.

Between 3:00 PM EST and 4:00 PM EST on Sept 13th, our applications stopped working and are experiencing the error:

An error occurred on the server. Server Response: Not a valid connector Error response.

Our applications are using SPO lists as data sources.

When I am in the PowerApps studio and try to refresh the data connection that was flagged, I get a "Try again" message

I checked the SharePoint sites that were being used every so often and they were accessible, but there were a couple minutes where they were showing the 403 Forbidden error. Once the sites became available again, the applications began to work again.

The issue seemed to have gone away on its own without any changes on our side. Is there any explanations for what caused the outage? The 365 Admin Center did not report anything in the Service Health menu and nothing is shown on the PowerApps support page. Is there a better way to understand or report these issues or get better visibility to these issues? It's frustrating to be in the dark, with no control or insight, and no information to tell the end users what happened, then for it all to magically work again.
