An error occurred on the server

I have built a canvas app that uses a SharePoint Online list in the back-end. The form doesn't use variables and is connected directly to the data source. The app displays the data on multiple screens  since there are about 20 fields of data to capture/display. When I create a new record I'm able to use a button on the first sheet to SubmitForm(formname) and in the OnSuccess of that form I ask it to navigate to the next screen using Navigate(screentwo). The issue occurs when I edit an existing item. To do that I select the item from the gallery and it correctly shows me the first screen of the form. However when I click on the same button to move to the second screen without making any changes to the data on the first screen, the SubmitForm fails. I used this code OnFailure:

Set(gblErrorMessage, First(Errors('MySharePoint List',selectedItem)).Message); Notify(gblErrorMessage);

to show me the error message and it shows: "An error occurred on the server".

When I remove the OnFailure Notify then I get this error:

"An error occurred on the server. Server Response: MySharePoint List failed: BadGateway

After logging a case with Microsoft I was able to resolve this by re-creating the screen from a blank screen.
