Animate objects in PowerApss

Let's say I have a refresh icon in my app that looks something like this

Capture18.PNG

What i wanto to do is spin this image by 180 degrees OnSelect() in, lets say, 2 seconds. Is it possible to achieve within PowerApps? I know there is some kind of default loading animation - running dots in the top of the screen when long running process occurs, but I still would like to make something custom.

A rotation property would be a good suggestion to add to the Ideas forum.

In the mean time, you could try this:

  1. Find or create an animated GIF with the desired rotation.
  2. Set the OnSelect property of the Image box to:
    UpdateContext({load: true});

    Refresh(datasource);

    UpdateContext({load: false})
    By default, the load variable is false.
  3. Set the Image property of your image box to:
    If(load,

    [URL or name of GIF],

    [URL or name of static image])

How it works:

When you click the image, it will activate the load variable to be true.

The Image will change to the GIF if the load variable is true. It will remain the static image if the load variable is false. The GIF will only be shown while the Refresh is in progress. It will automatically revert to the static image upon completion.
