Annoying Copilot Icon

Please help me turn this Copilot feature off! Every time I am working with a formula it pops up and gets in the way, especially when I am trying to copy and paste. Hopefully I can just switch it off for me as other users might want it.

hey @rwittels

i guess that this is not possible, but maybe you can find anything here:

Create and edit formulas with Copilot - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn

maybe this helps where u can find a solution on how u can turn copilot on maybe it helps turning it off:

How to Enable Copilot (Preview) feature in Canvas Apps? (dynamics.com)

but i guess this is the best shot you can take to turn it off:

How to Enable the New Power Fx Formula Bar in Power Apps Studio? (dynamics.com)

Let me know if my answer helped solving your issue.

If it did please accept as solution and give it a thumbs up so we can help others in the community.

Thanks for the links. It seems it can't be disabled now that it is "generally available". It is just in such a bad position.

Would it be possible to clarify what is happening when that is popping up?  I tried writing formulas and copy/paste but was never able to get that to open.  If you could share a gif or recording that would be even better.  It should only be opening up when you click on the icon itself to the left of the vertical line, so if that is popping open at other times, then it's definitely a bug we should be looking into.

Hi. It pops up if you select the formula/text in the bar. So a scenario would be that I want to select the formula and paste over it. Usually, I can select (click and drag to select all from right to left) and just paste (Ctrl+V) but now selecting makes the Copilot open and I cannot paste until I make it go away. The text remains in a greyed out state.

Question as I've been trying to reproduce.  Are you using a Mac by chance?

Also, if you could send me your session ID, it might help us troubleshoot from the backend as well.

Hi, I have a similar problem and it has cost me hours of hard work, because I do not always notice that the text (formula) that I selected is no longer selected (it changes highlighting from blue to gray). I have inadvertently deleted dropdowns, galleries, containers, you name it, when only trying to delete or cut text from the formula bar.

I had in fact started cutting text instead of copying, because it happened all too often, that when I eventually found the place where I wanted to paste the formula, something older gets pasted... in worst case, even a duplicate of a control, or of a screen. By my reasoning, if I cut and immediately paste (Ctrl-X, Ctrl-V), I lose nothing and can be sure the clipboard has what I want before I move on.

I suspect many other bugs in the interface, but don't know where to report them reliably.

I am using Firefox almost entirely. I have disabled the upcoming feature named Co-Pilot.

(Copilot has not given me a single table, screen or form that I could use. Since I've stopped hoping, I still try a question once every two weeks, just to confirm it isn't for me.)

As you may notice from the screenshot I include, I am not using an English version of the environment. I have tried, but it helps me partly only, as my employer is German, as is our "system".

No. I am on a Windows machine.

I tested further and can confirm this:

When I click and drag to select the formula, I usually do it from right to left because there is more white space on the right and it is quicker and easier. If I release my mouse button while the cursor is over the Copilot icon, it opens the box and causes the problem described. If I don't release the mouse on the Copilot icon, it does not cause problems. It is very likely that I will always release on the Copilot icon because of its proximity to the formula bar.

This is exactly what happpens to me. After selecting the text, if I delete, it deletes an object or component on my app screen and if I paste, it pastes the last copied object or component into my app. Very annoying!
