Approval flow on rejection to go back to originator

I have a powerapps form linked to Sharepoint list. I have fields in list/form like dept approval (1st approval level) , finance manager approval (2nd approval level) as drop down with values Approved and Rejected. Also, I have Request Status field which is non editable with values Draft, inReview, Completed. The respective approval person can select rejected or approved and i trigger mails based on the response selected in dropdown.
The issue is if the request is rejected at any stage i need the request status to go back to draft and continue the approval process from start.
Kindly help how this can be achieved.

Hi @Pstork1 ,

Thanks a Lot Sir. I managed the same by putting the check if the Modified By is equal to Created By. This solved the re-submit issue for me.

Take a look at the following Blog psot by Serge Luca.  He describes how to do an approval using multiple Flows in a State Machine pattern.  This is the kind of implementation that you need for your requirement.

Hi @Pstork1 ,

How can I resubmit the same item after rejection. Unable to achieve that.

Essentially, using HTTP/HTTPS you start a new Flow with a New Approval process.  If its just a re-launch of the original Flow it will essentially re-submit the item for approval.  There is no way to really re-submit in the existing Flow instance.  But you can re-start the Flow.

Sorry, I guess I misunderstood your question.  I thought you wanted to re-submit the Flow under certian conditions. I didn't realize that you had that working, but wanted to prevent re-submission by the same person. I'm glad you got it working.

Hi @cyberco01 ,

Do you trigger a flow (Microsoft Flow) from your app, then update the Request Status field based on specific condition?
