Attachments with SQL connector

I want to store and retrieve an attachment (excel file ) in a SQL database.
I'm using the SQL Server connector and I tried with a field with data type 'Image'. I sent an excel file using this method but I don't know how to retrieve it. I need a link so that the user can download the attachment from the app. Is this possible?

Can this be implemented using a custom connector?

Re: Attachments with SQL connector

Hi @nanci ,

Do you want to store and retrieve a Excel file in your SQL Table?

If you want to retrieve Excel files stored in a SQL Table within a PowerApps app, I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in PowerApps currently.

Currently, within PowerApps, we could upload Excel files to Image Data type column in a SQL Table. Please check the following blog for more details:

https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/upload-files-from-powerapps-to-sql-server/

But within PowerApps currently, there is no control supported to open a Excel file. So there is no way to retrieve Excel file stored in your SQL Table within a canvas app.

If you would like this feature to be added in PowerApps, please submit an idea to PowerApps Ideas Forum:
