Auto-Number to SharePoint List

I've seen a handful of posts for auto-numbering/auto-increment and it was a bit confusing.  Purely for SharePoint list, what's the best practice for auto-generating the next number.

FYI, I'm not worried about this new number showing up on the entry screen (Customized a PowerApp Form).  I just need it to be created on the list after I have completed the form/entry.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @ez1138,

Basically when you are adding item to SharePoint list there is being automatically created for each item unique ID that is incrementing for each new item. It is not visible o view of list in default, but it is possible to turn it on.

So I beleive there is no need to manage it at all....

Makes sense. Is there an easy way to change the ID to something outside of the defined way?

Nope, as this is automatically generated when new item is added by SharePoint itself.

But you can use it for example like this:

1) When new item is created in ShrePoint list, there is being triggered Flow

2) Flow will take this ID and add whatever you want like TKT_{ID}_SUPP... whatever
