Autoincreement column handling in power app and CDS

Hi,

I have created one entity and added one chemical_id column as Autoincreement. When I am inserting data manually on entity it is always asking me to enter value in chemical_id column. It should get increase automatically. should I need to change anything on entity level?

Please also suggest how we should handle autoincreement column in canvas app while inserting data on table.

Regards,

Lalit Kadam

Hi @Lalit_Kadam ,

Do you mean that your autoincreement column keeps asking for value when you update?

I think the problem should be about whether the field is required.

Please do not set autoincreement column required.

The reason is: if you set a column required, you need to update with this field's value when created new record.

However, this field's data is generated by system. So this will cause conflict.

The autoincreement column's value is update after you create new record automatically.

Notice the order.

Please set this field like this:

As the name suggest, you are not supposed to enter Data in autoincrement column. Have you tried submitting a form through Powerapps. What happened to the autoincrement if send data from Powerapps.
