BUG? Powerapps custom sharepoint form - Rich text editor gets height 0

I have a sharepoint list in which I've used Powerapps to customize the list form.

One of the fields on this form is using a Rich Text Editor to update a sharepoint multiline text column with enhanced rich text.

Intermittently (generally when you first go to the website) the rich text editor on the powerapps form will have collapsed. You can't click into the field.  This happens regardless of whether there is text in the field or not.  When it is collapsed, I use inspect element in the browser to try to see what's going on, and I see that the containing element (cke_1_contents) has gotten a style attribute which says "height:0px".

Clearly whatever is setting this height to 0 is the issue.

I've tried several approaches.  This happens with the height of the rich text editor hard coded.  It happens if the height is set to a variable that's set to a high number (like 250) on visible.  I've even tried using a button to push additional text into it, and to set the height of the control manually (in which case the button doesn't affect the height - it's just ignored, even though I can verify the button formula was run).

Hitting ctrl f5 on the browser window will make the problem go away, but it's usually right back after a few hours.  It's always back the next day.

Has anyone else seen this behavior?  Help!

I have the same problem. Have you figured out the solution or a work around?

I have seen you commenting on a similar post, so am tagging you here. I would be grateful if you provide your insights here.

I have two workarounds that have worked for me. 1: use a button to set a variables value to the height you’d like, and make the rich text editor’s height equal to that variable. 2. Use JavaScript to set the height of the element. I created a chrome plugin to accomplish this.

Microsoft did confirm that this is caused by a bug, and should be fixed by a future release.

The default height of Rich Text Input on NEW form was already set. You mean its not working on new form? Should it work at click of a button after form is loaded, you mean using a variable?

Yes, the bug doesn't seem to be present for new form - just for view and edit.

Correct - in edit use a button to update a variable.  Set Rich Text Editor's height (not the data card containing it) to that variable.

I've tried setting that variable onvisibile, onstart, etc - unfortunately whatever this bug is seems to happen after those events in the lifecycle of the form, so you need to use a button or some other device to ensure that the setting of the variable hieght occurs after everything is fully loaded & rendered.

Thank you, I will try that. For me its happening at both Edit and New forms. I will try your approach and come back.

I'm seeing the same exact issue. Any updates on when a fix for this bug is going to be implemented?

Same issue - only a problem when viewing the form in the SharePoint site - if the form is viewed from a Teams Tab displaying the list, its the correct height.
