BUG Show Scrollbar control not working in Firefox?

Today I received some reports that vertical scroll  bar appears while using my apps in FireFox. I investigated and indeed it is true. I have had this issue while I was developing, but in the App I changed Show Scrollbar property to false and it solved the issue. Since I only use Chrome, I never noticed the problem in Firefox. It seems that this property does not work on Firefox and it puts up the scroll bar.

Is there any option to disable scroll bars in Firefox?

If I switch the control to On I can see the scroll bar and it shows in Chrome. So it seems it just does not work when using Firefox Browser. Any workaround or solution?

Hi @Anonymous,

I have reproduced your issue in firefox. I have created the app following this blog:
Building an interactive calendar view with PowerApps

https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/davidni/2016/12/13/building-an-interactive-calendar-view-with-powerapps/

The app looks like this in IE, no Scrollbar show on the Horizontal Gallery.

However in firefox, the Horizontal Gallery is shown with the Scrollbar :

I will notice this issue to the pg and see if they could help.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Regards,

@Anonymousthanks for reporting this issue. We are following up internally to figure out what might be causing this, and for now please try the options below:

  • Try increasing the width of the Gallery. Does that help?
  • If it doesn't, please check if you have a formula for the Gallery's TemplateSize.
    • You might have something like Gallery1.TemplateSize = Gallery1.Width / 7.
    • Please try this isntead: Gallery1.TemplateSize = Gallery1.Width/7-10

Please let us know if that helps, and we will continue to investigate the root cause in the mean time.

@v-monli-msftthank you for bringing this to my attention.

We are thinking of replacing the ShowScrollbar property and functionality with  EnableScrolling.  This would couple disabling scrolling (including on touch devices) with not showing the scrollbar.  The functionality seems to be very related.

Would this work for everyone?

If it will remove the horizontal scrollbar from my galleries in Firefox then yes it would work for me.

Is there any update on this? it's a year later and I'm getting the bug now as well.

The issue is still not fixed, and it happens with vertical scrollbars as well (the original post says vertical but has horizontal on the screenshot).
