Re: Bar Chart Legend is Weird

I shouted so that you would notice that I had changed the approach to a better one.

I don't know why the OOB approach does not work, maybe you should give feedback to Microsoft to change the default for legend items.  I suspect it does not work since there is no reference possible to set the Legend1.Items property equal to ColumnChart1.Items (or ColumnChart1.AllItems in the same way you would for a gallery).  If you try, this gives an error of "Invalid name".  This may be a bug or intentional.

I appreciate your clarifications. Let's go ahead and "STOP THIS" as per your recommendation. It's become an uncomfortable experience for me.

Thanks @Steelman70 for this solution Smiley Happy

To be honest I found this thread a bit hard to follow (no fault of yours, I just didn't understand what you meant at first).  For other noobs like me -- basically you can use the exact same formula in the Items property for the Legend that you use in the Items property for the Chart.  The legend then displays correctly and does not require user selection in order for it to appear.

Example formula:   AddColumns(GroupBy(DataSource, "ColumnName", "Group"), "Count", CountRows(Group))
