Beginner issues

Good evening

I'm currently undergoing a crash course in power Apps and i've run up against a brick wall.  one of the tutorials wants me to input the following formula to put the prefix '£' infront of a number to reflect the currency (obv) and it's utterly refusing to work.  any insights would be appreciated, i've had a number of formulas 'fail' today with this same error msg and a seemingly sound expression.

(ThisItem.Price, "£##.00")

Formula from tutorial =

the only thing i've changed is i've subsituted the $ for a £, and i've tried replacing the , for a ; encase i've got a language/region issue but it had the same result.

fingerscrossed someone has a min to help

@JCJudge

Yes, the Text function will not accept that £ character in it.

Instead, change your formula to:  "£" & Text(ThisItem.Price, "#0.00")

I hope this is helpful for you.

Hi @JCJudge ,

Just noticed that you forgot to type the Text function itself.

It works just fine with a pound symbol:

@BCBuizer

Yes, it works fine in the designer - but some years back it caused an issue in the published version.

Perhaps fixed now!?  But...burned once is bad enough!! 😉
