Best way to handle combobox with SharePoint list as datasource and (multiple selections)

Hello,

I have a combo-box that is using a SharePoint list (Cloud Services) as a Datasource for picking options. This needs to be able to submit multiple selections.

(Cloud Services) Option List:

Title

Option1

Option 2

Option 3

Submission List:
contains a text field named "Cloud Services" and I am using the update as Combobox.Selected.value but it only saves the last choice picked from the multiple picked.  I've tried changing the update to Combobox.SelectedItems.Value but it gives me an error.

Should I be changing the Submission form field type to a lookup or a choice-field? I read that Lookup fields are really not working with SharePoint data sources yet so just looking for the best way to implement this.

Thanks!

Hi @Riftsan ,

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

Do you want to submit the picked multiple options to the "Cloud Services" Text field in your Submission List?

Based on the formula that you mentioned, I think there is something wrong with it. If the "Cloud Services" field is a Text type field in your Submission List, the Update property of the "Cloud Services" data card in your Edit form is required to provide a Text value. But the Combobox.SelectedItems.Value formula returns a table value.

I have made a test on my side, please consider take a try with the following workaround (concatenate multiple selected options as a string value😞

Set the Update property of the "Cloud Services" data card in your Edit form to following:

Concat(Combobox.SelectedItems, Value & "; ")

More details about Concat function, please check the following article:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/functions/function-concatenate

Please consider take a try with above solution, check if the issue is solved.

Hi @Riftsan ,

You need to Concat the resulting output.

Have a read of this item - it should solve our issue.
