Bing Map Connector GetRoute - Displaying Route Options

I am building a mileage tracking app and everything had been going smoothly until I realized the recommended route (where it returns the distance between two waypoints) is determined by shortest route by time. For my use case, the most ideal scenario would be for users to be able to choose between recommended routes (Bing Maps offers 3 suggested routes. See attached screenshot). Is there a way to display alternative routes within the app and allow users to choose from the options? 

Alternatively, if the above solution is not possible, is there a way to manipulate the GetRoute() function to return the shortest route by distance rather than by time? As you can see from the screenshot, sometimes the quickest route is not the shortest route. 

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
