I have a collection with a save icon, the save icon adds to the collection and creates a new line item for someone to save an additional item to the collection. The issue is when I elect save the dropdown of the new item defaults to lets say 'task' (name of column in collection) that I just submitted.... How do I default this to dropdown list that I have referenced to sharepoint?
Sorry but I couldn't fully understand what you need to achieve. Can you please explain in detail and take some screenshots here? Also, share the related formulas. Like what is the Item property of the dropdown control. Are you creating new items to collection or SharePoint list? What is the formula that you use to create the collection?

We would like the default of a collection item to be blank. I was able to do a workaround of sorts by adding a (Blank) item in the SharePoint list. But would like to know how it could set default to blank without having to add item (Blank).
