Bug: PieChart.Selected is not working

Slices of the Pie Chart can be selected and referenced. You can hover over the Pie Chart and it will temporarily explode and show a hover fill. When you click it, the selected slice stays exploded and you can reference it using PieChart1.Selected.property. This works in studio (see GIF on the right side):

On the left side is the app shown in a browser. The slices have no interactivity: there is no explode, hover, or referencing working.

Also, PieChart.OnSelect is not triggering actions. I believe these two bugs are related.

Note: I have ungrouped the pie chart objects, so there is not a group layer blocking the pie chart.

@v-monli-msft,

The pie chart is also not interactive in version 2.0.674. It works when you're editing in the studio, but not when the app is opened in the cloud.

Steps:

  1. Create a blank app.
  2. Add a Pie Chart.
  3. Click slices of the pie chart to ensure it is working in Studio. You should see slices explode and remain selected.
  4. Save the app to the cloud.
  5. Play the app in a browser or mobile device.
  6. Click on or around the Pie Chart to test it is working. Interaction does not work.

Edit: It works in Edge, but not in Chrome.

Hi @mr-dang,

I just simply tested with the exsiting sample app "Budget Tracker" and the selected slice stays exploded while using IE. So I think this is not a bug. You could also try with the sample app.

About that PieChart.OnSelect is not triggering actions, I have reproduced this issue and will report this to the pg.

@v-monli-msft,

You are correct. It does work--but that is only in editing. When you run the app in a browser, the pie chart isn't clickable.

I'm still encountering this bug. After speaking with MS Support under our LCS support agreement I've been advised to raise a "feature request" and gather votes to make this fix happen. I've done this here: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/PowerApps-Ideas/Enable-interactive-charts-for-powerapps-in-Chrom...

Note that I've also referenced this ticket as it provides a good example of the problem.

This works fine for me in Chrome. I created a new app, inserted a PieChart and 2 labels. PieChart.OnSelect=Set(x,"hello"). The first label has Text=PieChart1.Selected.City. The second label has Text=x.

I saved and published the app. Viewed in Chrome. Clicking on each item triggers OnSelect and I see the selected city changed accordingly. The selected pie slice is outlined and I see the pie slices explode.

Pro tip: you can also use the keyboard to select pie slices. Press TAB to cycle through buttons to select desired pie slice.

That's interesting. What windows/chrome versions are you using? I can't reproduce this on Windows 7.

Hi,

Check the DisplayMode property of the PieChart, it needs to be set to 'DisplayMode.Edit' for interacting with PieChart.

Hope this helps you!
