Bug: ViewForm() - ViewForm function can only work on an entity form.

Hi there,

I suspect the most recent update to the experimental data tables may have broken ViewForm().  I'm getting the below error message now:

"ViewForm function can only work on an entity form.  Wrong kind of control is given as input to the function."

I've created a new blank app to test this (no experimental features on) and the same error message persists.

> New Edit Form

> New Button

> Button onSelect = ViewForm(Newly created Edit Form)

Not too sure where bugs go in here so apologies if I've posted in the wrong area.

Thanks,

Ben

I get a similar error with edit form:

"EditForm function can only work on a form. Wrong kind of control is given as input to the function"

Same problem, just appeared out of nowhere overnight. Now I can't use ViewForm. When will this problem be fixed?

Yep, Microsoft like to break things...

same here.

I restored my app to PowerApps version ending .14 for now to get it working....

Hi GrischkePro,

How do you do that?

Thanks

Re: Bug: ViewForm() - ViewForm function can only work on an entity form.

Bizarre, I've managed to do this as a temporary workaround:

frmForm.Mode = FormMode.View;
ResetForm(frmForm)

I use this exact same code in two separate places (on the same form). One instance of the code works fine, the other instance of the EXACT SAME code gives a Runtime error message:

"ResetForm function can only work on a form. Wrong kind of control is given as input to the function."

Hi,

I tried to restore the .14 version, but nothing changed.. The error is still here..

Is there a way to prevent auto update like that ? My app no longer works and I can't do anything about it..

Thanks in advance for fixing it quickly...

same here, this is serious, when an app is designed using one form and switching it's mode the complete app is useless!! Microsoft what the hell have you done :Man Sad
